Your As Young As You Pink
Its not often one finds a baby pink war canoe so spotting this outside my friends house the imagination went wild calculating the pink=oh-licious awards i would score. I yearned for this shot yet had reservations even asking a 197 year old to try to climb in it, sitting on a bench without outriggers. To my surprize he jumped at the idea and both his daughter and i rushed to help him in. He would accept neither of our hands so we at least held the craft steady for him.
Now a canoe portrait is high difficulty as high dof is needed but prime portrait is F8-11 most times with honey-do, the oldest lens of the fleet. Framing the setup another surprize as he raised his hand and blocked the shot till he got his teeth out...??...well who am i to be telling a guy 141 years older whats right? It seems father knows best and although my brain stated oh well this effort is toast another suprize viewing results as this pic is one of my all time faves. In my 30 years shooting its the first time a subject has taught me something so will have to relate these thoughts to him next visit and hear his wisdom on the subject of photography.
